Q. What will be the final TDS of my water?

A. The final TDS of the treated water will be determined by the level of TDS going into the system, we typically see a 90 – 95 percent reduction of TDS from the unit. Factors that affect the level of TDS reduction would be: water pressure, temperature, and whether or not the water has already been filtered.

Q. What is the life expectancy of the membrane and pre-filter?

A. The life expectancy of the membrane will be determined by the amount of water used through the system, as well as the quality of the water going into the membrane. The life of the membrane will be reduced by at least 75% if it is being supplied by hard water. It is recommended that the sediment pre- filter should be changed once a year. Filter life could be shorter if you are using the system on unfiltered well water.

Q. What warranty does the unit come with?

A. The unit comes with a 1 year parts warranty. This warranty does not include the membrane and pre-filter.

Q. What is the “money back guarantee”?

A.  If you are not satisfied with the function of the unit within 90 days, you can send the unit back to us, and once received, we will refund the cost of the unit (not the shipping). The buyer will be responsible for covering the cost to ship the unit back. The money back guarantee is good for 90 days.

Q. Will this unit work with a pressure washer attached to it?

A. The pump on the unit is capable of up to 3 GPM. As long as the pressure washer is not rated for more GPM than that, it will work just fine.

Q. What are the advantages of the Spot Free Rinse vs a DI resin system?

A. The SFR system removes the TDS through the efficient process of Reverse Osmosis. DI resin systems remove the TDS with resin that becomes exhausted or used up after several washes which results in having to change out the DI resin quite often. DI resin can also be quite expensive to replace.

Q. I hear RO creates waste water, how much water will be wasted?

A. The Reverse Osmosis membranes used with our units are “High Efficiency” membranes with an excellent ratio of 1 to 1, meaning for every gallon of water treated, 1 gallon of the reject water will be sent to the drain. In-efficient membranes can be as high as 7 to 1 ratios.

Q. Can I rinse any type of vehicle with this water?

A. Motorcycles, cars, trucks, boats, campers and even windows can be rinsed with the SFR system.

Q. How long does the system take to fill the tank completely?

A. The system will fill the storage tank in approximately 24 hours.

Q. How many vehicles can I rinse with the system?

A. The system holds 30 gallons of water. That is enough water to rinse 3-6 cars.

Q. How does a Spot Free System work?

A. Our systems use membrane technology to strip out the dissolved minerals in water which leaves water spots.

Q. What type of water works with the Spot Free System?

A. This system works with both well and treated water. Soft water will prolong the life of
the system membrane.

Q. Does the system ever need to be serviced?

A. Once a year the in-line sediment/carbon filter should be replaced. If the water used is dirty, the filter will need to be replaced more often. The membrane on average should be replaced every 5-10 years. Water with a high calcium content will greatly reduce the life of the membrane.

Q. What are the dimensions and weight of the system?

A. The complete system weighs less than 25 pounds and the dimensions are 39” tall x 18” diameter.

Q. Can I feed the system hot water?

A. No, the system is designed for cold water only.

Q. Can I use a standard garden hose to feed the system?

A. Yes, this system is designed to connect to a standard garden hose.

Q. Can I use the system to rinse the soap from my vehicle after washing?

A. The system can be used to rinse the soap off a vehicle. To help conserve spot free water, the most common practice is to use standard tap water to rinse off the soap and then immediately do a final rinse with the spot free system. To ensure a spot free rinse, make sure the soap or tap water doesn’t dry before applying the final rinse.

Q. Will the system work if my house water pressure is very low?

A. For best performance your water pressure should be greater than 50 PSI. Water pressure lower than 50 PSI will affect the system’s performance. An in-line booster pump can be added to increase the pressure to the system if needed.

Q. Do I need to dry my car after using the Spot Free Rinse?

A. No, the Spot Free Rinse system filters out the spot-causing dissolved solids from the water, saving you the hassle of hand drying.
